YOGA AND DESERT HIKING ADVENTURE

16th November - 22 November 2025

prices from €1549 per person

Join me on a transformative 6-night journey through the evocative African landscapes of Morocco's Sahara Desert, where vast dunes meet endless skies and the rhythm of nomadic traditions offers a step back in time. In collaboration with Wild Morocco, this unique retreat blends desert hiking with the practices of yoga, meditation, and pranayama, providing an immersive experience designed to cultivate mindfulness and a potentially transformative adventure. Each morning, awaken to an inspiring supportive yoga practice that invites peace and awareness, setting a mindful and receptive tone for the day’s exploration.

Together, we’ll be hiking the desert’s rugged terrain and embracing authentic nomadic ways of life that have endured through generations. With two nights in an enchanting fixed Erg Chigaga desert camp, two nights of traditional nomadic camping under starlit skies, and our final two nights in the serenity of a more luxurious desert oasis, you’ll have the opportunity to deeply connect with Morocco’s rich cultural heritage. Evening sessions of restorative yoga ease you into a restful state, allowing each day’s impressions to settle.

This adventure is an invitation to ground yourself, connect with this authentic African landscape, and fully embrace the awe-inspiring wild beauty of Morocco.

THE YOGA

Whilst practically it will be tailored to the needs of the hiker, yoga retreat is also a time to deepen other aspects of your practice; daily meditation in nature, pranayama the science of breath, a sweet strong intuitive hatha yoga flow to start the day, and a shorter quieter evening practice of restorative sahdana each evening. The nomadic nature of this adventure will mean that we will strip the practice down to simply a mat, a strap and one foam brick, returning to a practice laid bare and done in nature.

THE TEACHER

I am a keeper of words and a lover of stories, philosophy and poetry. My yoga offers clarity, suggests precision, offers strength whilst suggesting softness. Mornings will be dynamic flow and evenings restorative. I am senior yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance, a yoga elder and a teacher of teachers. My quest is to invite students of yoga to use it as a tool to live life fully, simply and gratefully, deeply connected to the natural world. My guides are integrity and joy, and I remain open to finding adventure in every day.

ACCOMMODATION

Our first two nights are in the dunes at at fixed camp to allow you to decompress and adjust to the rhythms and environment of the dessert for a full day. There are fixed shared showers available. Having begun our nomadic journey, the second two nights are spent wild camping in the dessert. The camps are not pre-establish, and camels carry all of our camping equipment, food and water from point to point. We strike camp each evening in the shelter of small dunes and trees. Water in the desert is very precious, so we don't carry extra for showering. We are able to provide water for hand and face washing in the evening once the camp is established. Our final two nights and full day will be spent in an oasis, sleeping in individual bunglows with private bathrooms so that we can adjust, ready for more modern luxurious living on departing the dessert.

The food

We specifically ask for vegetarian food on this adventure as provided by our local cook. Typically the nomadic catering will provide plenty of fresh vegetables, and fruit, tagines, couscous, soup, salads, bread and pancakes.

This holiday incudes all your meals and water from your arrival dinner, through until your departure breakfast, but please be aware that drinks at the oasis hotel are excluded and will need to be paid for directly by the guests.

ACTIVITIES

Our main activities on this trip will be hiking, yoga and genuine cultural immersion. You can expect to hike around 5 - 6 hours during our hiking days, with longer yoga sessions provided on the days at the camp and the oasis. Expect time in the middle of the day to rest, sleep, read and relax, when the camels are rested and given the opportunity to graze.

travel advice

There are direct flights with Ryanair to Ouarzazate airport from London, Paris, Lisbon or Barcelona, where there will be a pick up to transport you to the beginning of our adventure. There are also Air Maroc flights from Casablanca If you are travelling from within Morocco, you should aim to be in Ouarzazate for midday on the 16th.

There is also a fascinating 10 hour bus trip from Marrakech or Casablanca through the Atlas Mountains to Ouarzazate for those who prefer overland travel. Ouarzazate is an interesting gateway into the desert and worthy of a night or two of your time if you can spare it at the start or end of your time with us.

Testimonials

"We booked a … wild camping trip with Wild Morocco and genuinely had a life changing experience! This was for the second half of our trip and we didn't know what to expect but it was PURE MAGIC. ...We both said that some of the best food we ate during our time in Morocco was on this trip. A truly truly magical trip and memories to last a lifetime. Thank you!"
